Police, across the country, have booked several hundreds of prayer leaders for organizing congregational prayers. A number of Imams have been arrested so far for contravention of government’s orders. However, on legal grounds, notice doesn’t hold mosque administration a direct offender in case of violation.

Cases against the prayer leaders, have been registered under section 188 of PPC as elucidated in the aforementioned notice. However, the same case could have been registered against the law enforcers on the same grounds on which prayers leader have been arrested.
Same cases were observed in other provinces Balochistan and Punjab. And both of these provinces only bridled the mosques from holding congregational prayers and no such constraint has been put on other religions.
