"Our candidates for LG elections and local leaders are being arrested," Mufti Qasim Fakhri

MPA Sindh Assembly Muti Qasim Fakhri asked that why government and institutes are pushing TLP to the wall when it's trying to be part of political process within the legal boundaries. Mufti Qasim Fakhri was addressing a press conference after election commission of Pakistan turned down TLP's request of recounting in the election of NA-240 where TLP was defeated by 65 votes. Remember that TLP was leading till the results of 299 out of 309 polling stations and then suddenly it was pushed to second position after RTS system went down for nearly 30 minutes. Furthermore, the vote difference is way lesser than the rejected votes cast for TLP.

Mufti Qasim Fakhri warned Sindh government for sabotaging the electoral process in collision with election commission of Pakistan as several TLP leaders and candidates (for upcoming LG elections) have been arrested since yesterday. "First you hinder our activities in mainstream politics, and then you cry when we take to the roads. Tell us why are we being pushed to the walls?" asked TLP MPA in the press conference. He asked government and election commission to move within the legal jurisdictions.
