Tehreek-E-Labbaik Pakistan has postponed the conference to commemorate the second constitutional amendment that declared Qadiyanies non-Muslims. The amendment was initiated and executed by Allama Shah Ahmed Noorani Siddiqi. The movement was supported and implemented by then Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. TLP was holding ‘Tajdare Khatm-E-Nabuwwat Conference’ at Peshawar Yadgar Chowk today to remember that history. The government illegally detained the TLP KPK chief Dr. Shafiq Amini and dozens of party leaders. In his last message before imprisonment, Dr. Shafiq Amini recorded a message that conference will be held as per plan. However the conference has been postponed for now.
Second Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan
In the Constitution, in Article 260, a new clause (3) was added, namely–
(3 a ) “Muslim” means a person who believes in the unity and oneness of Almighty Allah, in the absolute and unqualified finality of The Prophethood of MUHAMMAD (Peace be upon him), the last of the Prophets, and does not believe in, or recognizes as a prophet or religious reformer, any person who claimed or claims to be a prophet, in any sense of the word or of any description whatsoever, after MUHAMMAD (Peace be upon him).
(3b) “non-Muslim” means a person who is not a Muslim and includes a person belonging to the Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist or Parsi community, a person of the Quadiani Group or the Lahori Group who call themselves ‘Ahmadis’ or by any other name or a Bahai, and a person belonging to any of the Scheduled Castes.
