Mubarak Sani case review: SCP retract some controversial paragraphs

Supreme Court orders retraction of paragraphs 7, 42 and 49c

After a very long hearing and opinions from a number of scholars, SCP has ordered the retraction of the most controversial paragraphs from its judgment in the Mubarak Sani review case issued on 24th of July,

Hearing in progress, the bench decides to take help from scholars in the court

The hearing has been started in the Supreme Court where various scholars are also present at the moment and the bench has decided to take their opinion on the issue. The bench has asked Taqi Usmani, Fazal ur Rehman, Abu al khair Zubair and Fareed Paracha to assist the court. Qazi Faiz said that the court asked Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman to be there and he didn't come, although his nominated scholar was there.


Thousands outside the Supreme Court

Despite sealed red zone and blockades at various points in the capital city including Faizabad, a huge number of TLP workers have reached outside the Supreme Court awaiting the case hearing. Many TLP leaders and other religious scholars have also reached the Supreme Court.


Arrest of TLP leaders

We are getting reports from various cities where the local TLP leaders have been arrested. Many workers have also been reported to be arrested late Wednesday night across the Punjab province.
